the struggles of being heard on the internet because we've conquered them all
My relationship with The Progressive began as a freelancer for their website, and they gave me the pleasure of writing their June 2013 cover story. They offered a full-time role as web editor shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, my time with The Progressive was cut short due to a financial crisis that triggered a merger, bringing about major layoffs and the elimination of my role.
Despite our untimely parting, we saw many successes during my time with The Progressive, including 200% growth in the brand’s online impressions and several notable scoops pertaining to Governor Scott Walker’s “documentgate” scandal that earned our editor in chief numerous televised interviews on MSNBC. I also broke a major story about Wisconsin State Senator Kathleen Vinehout, who was expected to seek the Democratic Party’s nomination for governor.
